BinMaster Company History

From a tool & die shop to an industry-leading sensor innovator.

For more than 70 years, BinMaster has been at the forefront of level measurement and inventory management technology. What began as a small tool and die shop in Lincoln, Nebraska, has grown into a global leader in sensors, software, and smart inventory solutions for bulk solids and liquids.

A Legacy Built on Innovation

BinMaster was first part of Garner Industries, founded in 1953 by Ed Garner in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Originally focused on precision manufacturing, the company’s future changed in the mid-1960s when it developed an automated grain bin level monitoring system—marking the birth of BinMaster and its long-standing leadership in level control technologies.

Today, BinMaster designs and manufactures a complete range of point level sensors, continuous level measurement technologies, and inventory management software used in bins, tanks, silos, and hoppers across industries worldwide.

Evolving into BinMaster Sensors and Technologies

In November 2025, Garner Industries officially became BinMaster Sensors and Technologies, LLC, reflecting its expanded mission to deliver advanced sensing, software, and automation technologies that help customers operate smarter, safer, and more efficiently.

Strategic acquisitions have accelerated this evolution:

These additions have broadened the company’s expertise beyond level measurement into a comprehensive ecosystem of monitoring and control technologies.
